How did stalemate in the trenches during the Great War lead to the birth of the tank, and how did the use of the tank influence, but not win, the conflict?
Col Dick Taylor was educated at QE Grammar School in Wimborne 1972 – 76. He then joined the Royal Tank Regiment as a soldier and then officer until 2013. Still in the army reserve and currently Commandant of Dorset Army Cadet Force, he now lives in Blandford and has written nearly 20 books on armoured warfare.
