Can you help us name the colourful new character that is being used as our festival logo?

Quarterjack Logo Side

Designed by local resident and Horrible Histories Illustrator Martin Brown, our new character was inspired by Wimborne’s much loved Quarter Jack figure.

Carved by a Blandford craftsman for ten shillings in 1612, the Quarter Jack on the Minster’s West Tower was originally a monk before being repainted as a Grenadier Guard during the Napoleonic Wars.

So our gentleman must have a little of the peace maker and a little of the warrior in him, but what could his name be? Perhaps he has a first and a last name, perhaps just one.

We would love to hear your suggestions – and please, not jacky mc-jack face (or similar)!

Please send you ideas to info@wimbornehistoryfestival.org.uk, make sure you provide your contact details. The winning name will be chosen by Martin Brown and De Ashton from Wimborne Minster. The winner will receive Festival tickets for a family (2 adults and up to 3 children), so put on your thinking caps and you could be in for a thrilling day out this July! Closing date is 20th May 2016.
