Accessibility

Wimborne History Festival is keen to ensure that people of all ages and needs have access to the Festival and associated events.

All of the venues are accessible to wheelchair users.

Accessible toilet facilities are available:

  • At the Priest’s House Museum
  • At the Allendale Centre
  • On the Willow Walk site
  • In town centre (public facilities, RADAR key required)

Allocated parking bays in town centre car parks – please see Dorset Council website for full details.

Wimborne Town Centre is level, though there are some narrow pavements, Willow Walk is wheelchair accessible, with paved paths.

We understand that a festival can be a frenetic and sometimes daunting place, so if you have special needs and would like to come and meet the re-enactors at a quieter time, we will be opening slightly earlier at 9am on Saturday 18th July for visitors with special needs.

We will also have one or two ‘quiet spaces’ set aside so that there is somewhere to retreat to if the noise and bustle get too much.  Further details on these will be posted in due course.
